Johnny Depp: Footage shown of Depp and Heard arguing

Johnny Depp repeatedly slams kitchen cabinets and pours a tall glass of wine in footage secretly taken by his now ex-wife Amber Heard and shown during the couple’s multi-million pound defamation trial.

In the shocking video, the actor, now 58, paces the couple’s kitchen wearing sunglasses, a denim jacket and a feathered hat, and argues with Amber, now 36, before realizing he’s being filmed and to camera grabs.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star is suing the Aquaman actress for defamation over a 2018 article she wrote in the Washington Post which his attorneys said falsely implied he physically and sexually abused her and damaged his career and reputation.

The trial began last week when Johnny took the stand with a series of bombastic allegations over the past few days.

Yesterday, on the last day of this week’s hearing, the court was shown video taken by Amber, beginning with Johnny kicking cupboards and swearing.

As he leaves the frame, Amber repeatedly asks what happened. Johnny then wonders at cabinets with glass doors and throws them open, eventually slamming them so hard that part of the cabinet comes loose.

Amber then says, “Nothing happened this morning, you know that?” to which Depp replies, “Nothing happened to you this morning.”

She replies, “You’re right, I just woke up and you were still asleep.”

“We didn’t even argue this morning, I just apologized,” she continued.

Depp pours a tall glass of wine, prompting to ask, “Did you drink all that stuff this morning?”

The actor then sees he’s being filmed and grabs the camera, to which Amber says, “I just started this,” and Depp replies, “Oh, really, really?”

Johnny says something indistinguishable and Amber replies, “You were awesome…” with Johnny’s response again being indistinguishable.

The screen goes black before Amber’s face comes into view and she gets back on camera, at which point the clip ends.

Speaking about the video in court, Johnny, who denies physically abusing Amber, admitted he “attacked a couple of closets.”

When asked in court if he was violent, Depp said: “Obviously I was having a bad time. I don’t know what’s happening in relation to that, but being illegally recorded by your chosen one goes very well with the rest of the photos and tapes.

“She tried to hide it from me and ended up laughing and smiling. That was the most interesting part.”

Depp has sought damages of “no less than $50 million” as he claims the comment hurt his career.

In August 2020, Amber filed a counterclaim in response to his defamation lawsuit. The actress accused him of launching a “smear campaign against her” and said his lawsuit was just that Johnny continued his “abuse and harassment”.

The Aquaman star has claimed damages of “no more than $100 million.”

The trial in Fairfax County Court is scheduled to last seven weeks.
