Amber Heard’s former nurse testified over notes that said Ms Heard was “jealous and concerned” about Johnny Depp’s fame and ability to frequently date women.
During testimony videotaped on February 4 of this year, nurse Erin Falati was questioned about notes she took in September 2014.
In one of her notes, Ms Falati writes that Ms Heard had “difficulties with jealousy and anxiety over fiancé fame and an ability to interact frequently with women”.
In her 2018 commentary, Ms Heard wrote: “Like many women, I was molested and sexually assaulted when I was college-age. But I was silent – I didn’t expect that filing complaints would bring justice. And I didn’t see myself as a victim.
“Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic violence, and I felt the full brunt of our culture’s anger at women speaking out,” she added at the time.
While Mr Depp is not named in the piece, his legal team argues that it contains a “clear implication that Mr Depp is a domestic abuser”, which they say is “categorically and demonstrably false”.
Depp is suing his ex-wife for $50 million in defamation lawsuit.

Heard is filing a $100 million countersuit, insisting the abuse allegations are true and accusing Depp of falsely calling her a liar.
Earlier in the trial, Johnny Depp’s agent claimed the actor missed out on an £18million ($22.5million) fee for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and said it was “impossible” for him to get a major role in a Hollywood film to secure after Amber Heard’s allegations of domestic abuse were brought.
Depp claims he was dropped and “cancelled” as swashbuckling pirate Jack Sparrow after Heard wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018 alleging she was the victim of physical and sexual violence.
Agent Jack Whigham, who testified in the former couple’s defamation battle, said Depp did not appear in any studio films between December 2018 and October 2020 and funding for the independent film Minamata was nearly withdrawn in the face of Heard’s allegations.
“It was disastrous because it came from an ego account,” he said. “It wasn’t from a journalist, not from someone observing, it was from someone saying this happened to me.”
Mr Whigham said Depp had an £18million ($22.5million) “verbal agreement” with Disney to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, but was told in 2019 that the studio decided to go in a “different direction”.
The agent said actress Margot Robbie was chosen to direct the film in place of Depp, and he described the comment’s impact on the production of Minamata, which also stars Bill Nighy and singer Katherine Jenkins.
“The op-ed came out in December, just as we were going on Christmas break. Minamata should start in January. It was very, very difficult to keep Minamata together,” he said.
“Funding faltered, Johnny’s fee was reduced to save the film.”
The court heard evidence of Depp’s lucrative film career, including a £10m ($13.5m) fee to star in Fantastic Beats – The Crime of Grindelwald, £8m ($10m) for Agatha Christie’s mysterious Murder in the Orient -Express and 8 million pounds 6.5 million ($8 million) for his role in the 2018 film City of Lies.
Entertainment attorney Richard Marks said Heard’s comment created “a rejection situation” for Depp and “damaged his reputation and ability to get work in the Hollywood industry.”
He said the Aquaman actress “called out to Hollywood” for supporting Depp after their 2016 divorce, when she first raised allegations of domestic violence.
“Amber Heard says I was abused, Hollywood stood up for my abuser, not me the victim. Hollywood got the point of the comment loud and clear,” said Mr. Marks.
