Ronan Group Real Estate (RGRE), the company of developer Johnny Ronan, has applied for planning permission to build 141 luxury homes and apartments in Stylebawn in the village of Delgany, Co. Wicklow, which it originally bought in 2003.
Once construction is complete the development will consist of a mix of dwellings including 60 four bed houses, 14 three bed houses and one two bed house.
In addition, two multi-family houses are being built in four and five Floor developments consisting of 38 two bed units and 28 one bed units spread across the buildings. The majority of Stylebawn will be available for private sale to families, while 20 are earmarked for social and affordable housing.
The application includes plans for the sensitive restoration of Stylebawn House, a listed 18th century building. In 2016 it was badly damaged by a fire.
To complement the existing setting around Delgany, the developments at Stylebawn will include communal areas including children’s play areas, a courtyard and a nature trail. Once owned by the Gaisford St Lawrence family, who also owned Howth Castle, Stylebawn had opened its gardens to the public over the years.
RGRE intends to implement an extensive planting program that includes planting of trees, shrubs and herbs, lawns and meadows to enhance the biodiversity of the site.
The company describes it as a prime location in an area with high demand for residential accommodation and single-family homes. The village of Delgany is close to the towns of Greystones and Bray and is also within easy reach of the N11 and hence the M50 motorway which provides easy access to the workplaces of large multinational employers in and around Dublin.
The Ronan Group recently received planning permission for nearly 600 homes in Glass Bottle on Dublin’s Poolbeg Peninsula, where the group is part of a consortium hoping to deliver 3,800 homes, including 25 per cent social and affordable housing.
Elsewhere, the company says it continues to deliver thousands of homes across Dublin and surrounding counties, including 393 units at Spencer Place in Dublin’s north Docklands and at TC3 in Cherrywood in south Dublin, where it is developing a neighborhood which will include about 430 units.
