Mrs. June died in early April at the age of 95, at home in Surrey with her extended family.

Michelle appeared on Loose Women on Friday afternoon and discussed her good times with the popular soap star – who has captivated fans with her portrayal of Dot Cotton.

“I think we all thought she would live forever,” panelist Nadia Sawala said of the actress.

Michelle, who plays Cindy Beale in the BBC, joked that ‘she’s almost’ lived forever as she discussed June’s excellent health.

“She’s really, really healthy,” explains Michelle. “She eats very well. I know she smokes and loves her red wine. She is very healthy.

“She had a whole box of smoothies. I once saw her do pelvic floor exercises [exercises] on a trolley in the BBC canteen. And she’s the one who introduced me to the hay-based diet, where you don’t mix proteins or carbs.

Michelle added: “She’s a very fit woman, hence why she’s lived so long.”

A few years before her death, June revealed the secret to her long and happy life.

She said it was to ‘do what you damn please do well’.

In 2019 Guardians reported that June said, “I’m dying of something pretty soon, so why not enjoy myself.”

The newspaper also revealed that she doesn’t mind eating sweets or drinking alcohol, saying: “[I] I love red wine and also dark chocolate, even though I’m allergic to it and it makes me sneeze.

“And the Guinness record helps me keep a little bit of weight. So I don’t have to be careful about what I eat or drink.”

It has also been reported that she spoke about her 20-a-day smoking habit, saying: “What good is it to count how many cigarettes I smoke a day?

“I’ve been using them for over 70 years.”

In February 2020, June departs from Albert Square and departs from EastEnders.

Her departure came because she didn’t like her plot and couldn’t read her script correctly due to vision problems.
