Budding musician Junior Andre shipped more singles than Harry Styles and Lady Gaga for his debut song Slide as he topped the UK iTunes chart on Saturday – less than 24 hours after its release.

Junior Andre thanks fans for supporting his single ‘Slide’

Junior Andre continues to impress after the release of his debut single Slide and he seems to have gained another celebrity fan in Paul Gascoigne.

The oldest child of Peter Andre, 49, and Katie Price, 44, saw his new hit rise to the top of the UK iTunes chart within 24 hours of its release on Saturday.

The budding musician, who has followed in his father’s footsteps as a pop star, has shipped more singles than both Harry Styles and Lady Gaga when he hit the iTunes charts.

Peter is mentoring Junior to start his own music career 30 years after he started his own business.

Slide has received a positive response from young music lovers calling it the perfect summer tune, but the older generation is also enjoying the teen debut song.

Former Newcastle and England midfielder Gascoigne was filmed dancing to the popular song with his daughter Bianca, and the pair slid along to the chorus of the song.

Sharing the video on his Instagram account, Peter wrote: “Love you guys. Go Gazza”.

Junior has been teasing Slide on its social media platforms for the last month, particularly on TikTok, where video clips of the song have garnered more than 6 million views.

The 17-year-old celebrated the song’s success at a party to celebrate his entry into the music industry.

He uploaded a series of photos and videos to Instagram after the track was released, sharing them with his more than 500,000 followers on the social media platform.

Rapper and comedian Big Narstie, 36, was among those attending the party along with his father and aunt Sophie, however, mother Katie was not.

Junior was seen wearing a white t-shirt, pink denim jacket and matching jeans, with the musician donning the look by wearing a gold chain around his neck.

Other photos in the post show him interacting with fans at a recent event, with one clip showing fans dancing to his newly released single.

Junior wrote in the caption, “The love you guys showed today was insane and you guys slipped to #1 in the iTunes chart! Now we just have to keep it going.”

He continued, “Thank you for supporting new artists like me. Without you, this wouldn’t be possible.”
