Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is “happy” with Mohamed Salah’s contract situation.
It was reported over the weekend that the Egyptian striker, who is currently on a contract that runs until 2023, was on the verge of agreeing a new one that would keep him at Liverpool until the end of his career.
When asked about the contract situation at his press conference before the Champions League duel against Benfica on Tuesday, Klopp said: “I’m happy with it because there’s nothing new to say.
“It’s good. The key parties are talking to each other and that’s all I need.”
Klopp confirmed he had a full squad available for Tuesday’s quarter-final first leg, with positive news on the fitness of Curtis Jones, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
He said: “I think Curtis was just a little swollen (after Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Watford), (but he’s fine. The same goes for Joel.
“And Trent has been training for four or five days now, not exactly, but he’s ready too.”
Naby Keita, who was out on Saturday with a knee problem, also trained on Monday.
