Mohammed Salah is ready to finally sign on the dotted line to seal his new deal, much to the relief of Jürgen Klopp. And with his significant decision, the Liverpool star has proven he’s still hungry to contribute to their success.

The question of his new contract has shrouded his future in a dark cloud this season as Salah’s current deal expires in 2023. but mirror football understands that an agreement is near after the parties achieved a breakthrough in negotiations this week.

Salah initially rejected new terms that would have seen him earn £400,000 a week, leading Liverpool owners to fear he would let his current contract expire and leave as a free agent in the summer of 2023. European clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, real Madrid and Barcelona have all shown interest in Salah in the past and would certainly jump at the opportunity to snap him up.

For Klopp, not only would making Salah focus on his future would boost his team’s morale tremendously, but also his plans to add more silverware in the future. When he first signed Roma’s Egyptian star for £38million in 2017, the German manager had spelled out how important it would be for Salah to show his thirst for success.

“But the most important thing for us is that he’s hungry, willing and eager to do even better and keep improving,” he said. “He believes in what we’re trying to do here at Liverpool and is keen to be a part of it. “He is really looking forward to performing for our wonderful supporters. He is an ambitious player who wants to win and win at the highest level; He knows he can fulfill those ambitions with Liverpool.”

In his five seasons at Anfield, Salah has won a number of honors both collectively and individually. He was crucial in ending the club’s 30-year wait for a domestic triumph, clinching the mid-season 2019-20 title Coronavirus Pandemic. The year before, Liverpool added a sixth European Cup after losing Tottenham in Madrid, and Salah was awarded fourth at the Ballon d’Or.

Have your say! Will Mohamed Salah’s contract give Liverpool the Premier League title? Comment below.

Salah has often hinted at a new challenge, with Spain said to be his preferred destination. But while La Liga might have been superior to that First League When he first joined Liverpool, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have since experienced a bit of a dip – he left the Reds and Manchester City to compete as Europe’s top outfits.

Plus, his desire for more success, as Klopp wished, hasn’t wavered. Perhaps spurred on by his disappointment on the international stage after Egypt’s final defeat at the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah looks hungrier than ever to add more cutlery to his sparkling cabinet.

The 29-year-old has continued in brilliant form for the Reds this season, topping the Premier League goalscoring chart with 20 goals in 29 games. He also added another eight in the Champions Leagueas well as laying on 11 assists for his teammates in all competitions.

Salah remains a key member of Klopp’s side and has missed just two league games this season due to his Africa Cup of Nations appearances with Egypt. Even if the next generation of Liverpool attackers – Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota – show their talent, they will only improve if they play alongside Salah.

Liverpool have done everything they can to ensure Salah, a fan favorite who is also admired by his fellow pros, will continue to wear the famous red jersey. Some may be wondering if breaking the bank to tie a player who turns 30 in June is a sound financial decision.

But Salah has shown no signs of decline – if anything, he’s becoming more of a finely-tuned footballer. And if securing his future means keeping Liverpool at the forefront of national and European football for years to come, Klopp will no doubt feel vindicated in pushing for his renewal.
