All three women were members of the church at the time, and Masterson remains one.
“I find the jurors hopelessly stuck,” the judge announced after asking if the court could do anything to bring them closer to a unanimous decision.
The jurors said they voted seven times on Tuesday and Wednesday without being able to reach a consensus on any of the three counts.
The jury foreman said only two jurors voted to convict the first time, four voted to convict a second time, and five voted to convict a third time.

The proceedings come amid a series of cases on both coasts of MeToo significance, including the Harvey Weinstein trial in Los Angeles just down the hallway from Masterson’s.
