Kanye West is buying Twitter competitor Parler to create a ‘non-cancellable’ social network

KANYE West is buying conservative Twitter rival Parler to create a “non-cancellable” social media app.

The controversial hip-hop star – now known as Ye – says he takes a stance against “big tech censorship”.

It comes just days after West was fired from Twitter for posting a shocking anti-Semitic tirade.

Parler was launched in 2018 as a microblogging app built around the idea of free speech, hoping to welcome users who have been banned from other platforms.

It is estimated that there are somewhere between 700,000 and 1 million active users.

In a statement, Parler said, “Parlement Technologies announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle to sell Parler.”

“Ye has become the richest black man in history through music and clothes.

“And takes a bold stance against his recent Big Tech censorship and uses his far-reaching talents to continue to lead the fight to create a truly irredeemable environment.”
