Kanye West will no longer buy alternative messaging platform Parler, the company has announced.
A statement from parent company Parlement Technologies said both parties had “agreed” to terminate their intent to purchase by mid-November.
Parler has established itself as an unbiased platform and has become popular with those banned from using Twitter, while also hosting prominent conservative voices in America.
The social network was removed from app services including Apple and Amazon for some time after the US Capitol attack over concerns about its role in the violence.
“Parlement Technologies would like to confirm that it has agreed with Ye to terminate its intent to sell Parler,” the company said in a statement shared online.
“This decision was made in the interests of both parties in mid-November.
“Parler will continue to pursue future growth opportunities and platform growth for our vibrant community.”
It comes after West, who legally changed his name to Ye, returned to rival social media platform Twitter since being taken over by Elon Musk.
The rapper continues to spark controversy online, with the remarks made on Thursday during an interview with American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
During the interview, with his face covered in a mask, West praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
His previous anti-Semitic remarks led to the termination of lucrative partnerships, including with German sportswear brand Adidas.
