Roberto De Zerbi wants to get more from Kaoru Mitoma.
And that could mean more left-hand connections to Solly March.
The Albion boss was asked about his Japanese wideman following the 1-0 defeat by Tottenham.
Mitoma added some penetrating power to the left flank, as was the case in the second half of Liverpool’s 3-3 draw.
De Zerbi was suitably impressed – and might have hinted at a more likely role for Adam Lallana in passing.
The head coach said: “Mitoma is a very good player.
“Maybe Mitoma and Lallana changed the game at Liverpool and same thing today.
“I want to find a way to put all the players on the pitch who have more quality.
“But it is possible to only play 11. Great guy, great player.”
When asked what Mitoma would have to do to get into that XI, De Zerbi said: “In the future we can change positions, we can’t change style but positions on the pitch.
“It’s difficult to find the best solution because Trossard is another very good food player, Gross same, March same.
“Mitoma played at Liverpool and today as a left winger and March as a full-back. Maybe this one can be the solution.
“I don’t know at the moment.”
