Love Your Garden: Kate Garraway shows Derek her work

Kate Garraway has shared an update on her husband Derek Draper’s health as she talks about how important gardening is to her.

The Good Morning Britain presenter has documented the work she has done in her garden to try to improve her and her family’s life, after Derek was left with serious and long-term health problems. long after the battle with Covid two years ago.

Derek was hospitalized for months before he could go home, but he still required round-the-clock care, much of it provided by Kate and her two children, Billy and Darcy.

Speaking of her and her family’s predicament with Derek’s condition, she explained on Love Your Garden tonight: “The garden needs a lot of space to go in. I really want to plant some plants to improve. improve our health and well-being.”

When she started working on her garden, Kate admitted that she was excited by the prospect.

“I love the idea that there are plants that look good, smell good and work well. I hope it works,” she said as she began work on her garden, which will have three other beds. each other – one is for usable trees. for making tea, another with medicinal plants, including those with antioxidants and perennials, as well as a separate treatment bed.

At the end of the show, Kate explains what her gardening experience has taught her.

“If you look past the original beauty of a tree, it can give you a lot more. I haven’t proven that you can develop yourself well but I think I definitely learned that you do. can grow happier on their own,” she said.

Kate previously gave an update on Derek’s health, explaining how the entire battle has affected both him and her.

“I don’t know about mental health if I’m being completely honest, because he’s still so affected with communication and mobility that I don’t feel qualified to say if it affects his depression. emotional and anxious or not,” she said recently.

“I mean I must have thought, because if you’re still unable to communicate and the mobility is very difficult, and the lungs, and all those other things, that’s going to affect …”

She added: “It’s interesting isn’t it that now … everything is focused on the lungs, and then people understand that there’s fatigue, it’s really a neurological problem anyway, and Now more and more we’re realizing that impact is broader.”
