“I think the focus is on the outside more than on the inside, which, I think, says a lot about how we are programmed,” she continued. “Because the only time I think about old age is when asked what I think about old age.

“You know, everyone wants to talk about what women are doing to their faces. Or how women fight aging. And I love all of that. I love talking about the new laser, but it’s true. It’s interesting that men don’t really get the same questions. But, you know, they worry about aging, too.”

Instead of feeling pressured to always be present, Hudson feels that getting older means prioritizing what’s important in her life.

“I think getting older is difficult because it brings you closer to the inevitable – that we are impermanent,” she said. “And the question becomes, what are you looking for in life? What makes you feel alive and excited to be a part of this experience?”

“It doesn’t look traditional on the outside, but on the inside I feel like we’re killing it. The unit I created with three kids with three different fathers is an incredibly powerful unit, and it’s ours.”
