The Duchess of Cambridge is often admired the world over for her stylish wardrobe and stunning jewelry.
But she once had to issue an annoyed apology after being scolded by a three-year-old fan for her outfit choice -.
It happened during a visit to Swansea with Prince William in February 2020 when Kate met Rhian Costello and her young daughter Annabel, who disapproved of the duchess’ outfit because she didn’t “look like Cinderella”.
According to Annabel’s mother, she was excited to meet a “real princess” but was a bit disappointed that Kate wasn’t wearing a Disney-inspired dress.
It forced Kate to apologize “for wearing an unflattering dress” in a very cute exchange.
Instead of a glitzy evening gown, Kate opted for a Hobbs coat, Zara skirt and eye-catching Beulah London scarf.
Rhian explained at the time: “My daughter loves fairy tales and Cinderella, and she is really excited to meet a real princess.
“Kate said, “I’m really sorry I didn’t wear a nice dress today,” and Annabel said, “I think you look like Cinderella.”

But Rhian said to Daily mail that despite not wearing a large Cinderella dress, Annabel still “fits” with the Duchess.
She added: “Annabel was so photographed with her, she came forward and hugged her so much and I was absolutely amazed that Kate hugged her in such a way.”
Without a doubt, Kate has recently spent some time thinking more about the outfits she plans to bring with her on her and William’s Caribbean tour that begins March 19.
Buckingham Palace confirmed last month that it would be heading to the Caribbean for a week-long trip to help mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The tour begins Saturday, March 19 and will run in Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas before concluding March 26.
Kensington Palace said William and Kate will visit historic Mayan sites and celebrate the rich culture of the Garifuna community in Belize, as well as explore the country’s biodiversity.
In Jamaica, they will meet with the Jamaica Defense Force and honor the legacy of Bob Marley and other groundbreaking Jamaican musicians alongside potential stars of the future.
In the Bahamas, the Cambridges will visit several islands and experience the world famous junkanoo parade.
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: “Their Royal Family are looking forward to the visit, which will be their first official overseas visit since Covid-19 began in 2020.”
