The new Princess of Wales arrived at Westminster Abbey with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and the Queen Consort.
They arrived shortly after the Queen’s grandchildren, with Princess Kate wearing the Queen’s pearl necklace.
The pearl and diamond choker was also worn by Kate’s late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
It comes after Kate wore a three-pearl necklace when the Queen’s coffin arrived at Buckingham Place for the last time last week.
The three-strand necklace was a nod to the Queen’s favorite jewelry, which she had grown fond of as a child.
Speaking of To expressArseiny Budrevich, the founder of Budrevich Fine Jewelery Studio, revealed that the Queen may like her for another reason as well.
The expert explained how pearls “represent the aristocratic virtues of liberality, splendor and generosity”.
They added: “Pearls have been associated with class, elegance and sophistication since the Ptolemaic dynasty of ancient Egypt, when the royal family wore pearls to show their status.
“This tradition was then passed through the Holy Roman Empire to the French monarchs, who made it fashionable in the Middle Ages, where it later spread throughout Europe. That’s when the British Empire picked up the style.”
