Queen’s Jubilee: Prince William and Kate arrive at St. Paul’s

The Duchess of Cambridge gave a beautiful nod to the Queen at a service at St Paul’s today, which the monarch had to miss on the second day of her Jubilee celebrations.

Kate was among 40 other royals, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who attended the event as part of national commemorations marking the 70th reign of the monarch.

The 96-year-old Queen was absent, instead watching on TV from Windsor Castle after suffering “discomfort” after a busy first day of celebrations, which included a double balcony appearance and a bonfire light.

But it seems Kate wanted to pay her own tribute to the monarch, even if she couldn’t be there herself.

She also wore a gorgeous yellow Emilia Wickstead dress with a matching Philip Treacy hat – and she paired it with a stunning pair of Queen’s earrings.

The earrings are part of the Queen’s collection and are known as the Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings, which were given to the Queen as a wedding gift.

Kate has worn the jewelry several times in the past, including at Prince Philip’s funeral last year and a few times at the cenotaph. They are believed to be on permanent loan to Kate.

Today’s service marked the first time Harry and Meghan have been seen in public with the royal family since they left the monarchy for a new life in the United States two years ago.

Crowds cheered the couple as they arrived, with the couple smiling and waving to onlookers.

It was the first time Meghan and Kate made their first public appearance together since Meghan accused her sister-in-law of making her cry.

During her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan accused Kate of leaving her in tears during a bridesmaid dress fitting ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Harry.

The two women sat on opposite sides of the aisle for the event, which comes on the second day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Sussexes sat second row at today’s Thanksgiving service, in keeping with their new non-royal roles, with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their husbands, and Princess Margaret’s daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto, and her family.

Meanwhile, more than 2,000 people packed the historic church, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was booed by the crowd outside, cabinet ministers, Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer, first ministers from the devolved governments and all the living former prime ministers.

Public service is the central theme of the religious event, to which 400 honorees have been invited, including NHS and key workers who have been recognized for their work during the pandemic.

Hundreds of people gathered, some wearing Union flag caps, others hanging flags and pennants over the railing at the entrance to the cathedral.
