Katie, 43, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning for allegedly violating the restraining order.

She allegedly texted her ex-husband Kieran Hayler about his fiancée Michelle Penticost and allegedly called her a “slut”.

Kieran, 34, called police and Katie was arrested before being released on bail on Saturday afternoon.

A source said: ‘Katie has been having a hard time lately and her behavior over the past few weeks has become a bit erratic.

“She lashed out on social media and even had an attack on Peter Andre’s wife Emily MacDonagh and claimed she prevented her daughter from visiting her in rehab.

“Her family wants her to go back to Priory for a while to get over her demons because she did so well before when she was there.

“However, this is not what Katie wants to do.

“They know how lucky she was to not have to go to jail for being drunk last year but now she has to face jail time. It was an extremely worrying time.

“Her family is in dire straits. They want to do everything they can to help and protect Katie. But this time if the accusations are verified she really hasn’t helped herself and the situation is looking bleak.”

The Sun newspaper revealed earlier today Katie could face up to five years behind bars for violating the ban.

The verdict was issued in 2019 and barred Katie from contacting Michelle, the mother of youngest son Kieran, for five years.

In a statement, police said: “At 5:45pm on Friday (January 21), police responded to a report that a suspect had violated their restraining order.

“Officers have arrested a woman in her 40s, who has been released for investigation while investigations continue.”

Katie is currently serving a 16-week suspended prison sentence for overturning her BMW in September after being drunk and intoxicated.

She also had to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation sessions with probation, and was banned from driving for two years.

Katie escaped prison last month because of a loophole and was told by a judge that she should have been behind bars for her crimes.

In sentencing, District Judge Amanda Kelly said: “You could have killed someone. Your actions mean emergency services must use up their precious time.

“You knowingly and willfully disobey the court order, not the first time. You seem to think you are above the law”.

At the time, there was a public outcry as Katie was removed for the incident, as she told police at the scene: “I was on drugs, I shouldn’t have been driving, I admit it all .”
