And it seems the whole family is involved, with Amy designing a special room in the Mucky Mansion so she will always be remembered.

She was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017 and currently has no cure.

In the series available to watch on All4, Amy told the cameras: “When you’re unwell, you see things in a different way and it would be great if you could leave things that people can remember. friend.

“Once it’s done, I want it to be a happy room, a comfortable room, whenever she’s not feeling very well, she can come in here and it’ll be quiet.

“And she can reflect. That’s what I think would be good for her.

“I’ve had this China office myself for fifty years and well, it just stays with me.”

An emotional Katie also explained why she asked her mother to put her own stamp on one of the rooms in her house.

She said: “My mother made a room in my house something special.

“Because it could really be the last thing she does for me.

“And hopefully she doesn’t make it through, but when she finally does, I know I have a room she put together. It’s emotional, a beautiful room, a happy room to stay in. .”

Amy fills the room with patterned wallpaper and green walls complemented by bamboo furniture.

After seeing her transformed space and desk, Katie told Amy, “It really looks good here. No TV. Just a quiet room, no phones, no music. , a new beginning, a new beginning”.

“It’s so relaxing here. You two are doing well. I really like it, I wouldn’t change it.”

She added to the camera: “To be fair, I had to give it to my mom and they did a great job.”

Amy’s disease causes scarring in the lungs, reducing the patient’s ability to breathe. There is currently no cure.

In her book Harvey and Me, the former glamor admits she’s accepted the diagnosis and is planning a… her motherfuneral of.

She wrote: “I’ve accepted it now because I have to. She has a terminal illness and that’s just the reality of it.

“I know it sounds terrible, but when we learned the prognosis, I even talked to my mom about her funeral and what she wanted for it.

“I think it’s much easier to organize a funeral if you know what they want.”

The mother of five also recently said she would be marrying fiancé Carl in the UK so her mother could be there.
