Kelvin Fletcher’s wife reveals he nearly missed his twins after 5am at the hospital

Kelvin Fletcher’s wife, Liz, revealed she arrived at the hospital at 5am before giving birth to twin boys.

The actress and voiceover artist, who married the former Emmerdale star in 2015, said she was afraid Kelvin, 38, might not come to her bedside during childbirth.

The couple welcomed Maximus Crowther and Mateusz Kelvin in May, and already share daughter Marnie and son Milo.

Liz said Hi! Magazine : “I woke up in the morning and my water had broken.

“I called the hospital and they said come in. Kelvin had to stay with the kids, so I drove myself to the hospital, which is an hour away, at 5am.

“I was a bit panicked that Kelvin might miss the birth if it happened right away. They did a CT scan and told me ‘Today will be today’.”

Recalling the moment they introduced the kids to their siblings, Liz said: “Milo was like: ‘It’s so heavy.’ Marnie is kissing them. That’s cute.”

Kelvin added: “Although Milo is only three years old, he instinctively knows to be gentle with them. They have grown more than overnight. Marnie has been a huge help.”

Liz said: “The first week was crazy – it was like a circus act when they were spinning… I couldn’t hold two babies at once, but now I can do it with two fingers! “

Kelvin added: “It feels like it’s always been like this.”

Speaking of their 120-acre farm in the Peak District, he said: “Without a doubt, we want the kids to grow up with this lifestyle.”

Fletcher is best known for playing Andy Sugden on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale from 1996 to 2016.

He won the 2019 series with professional partner Oti Mabuse after being substituted at the last minute for injured Jamie Laing.

Earlier this year, the Fletcher family was seen on screen on the BBC’s Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure.

The six-part series, filmed last summer, saw the family “go to the countryside” as they built a new life on a farm.
