Kerry CAMHS scandal: Parents assaulted by their improperly treated children banned from compensation scheme

Parents who were assaulted or suffered psychological trauma after their children were prescribed excessive and inappropriate medication at a psychiatric service have been left out of a multi-million dollar compensation scheme.

Unior Health Secretary Mary Butler has told lawyers representing families implicated in the South Kerry Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) scandal that she is not proposing to expand the scheme beyond the children affected.
