Kerry Katona reveals her mother suffered a heart attack

Kerry Katona has asked fans for prayers as she revealed her mum Sue has suffered a heart attack.

The 41-year-old TV star has spoken of her agony as her mother remains hospitalized, but she is unable to see her as she continues her string of pantomime shows.

Taking to Instagram, an emotional Kerry addressed fans in a video as she said: “Just to let you know for those who don’t know my mum suffered a heart attack on Thursday.

“She’s in the hospital as we speak, but she wanted me to let you know that she’s fine. She is best for you.

“I’m in the middle of a tour right now, so I can’t even visit right now,” Kerry sighed.

She went on to describe the incident as a “great horror.”

“Great fear. Huge…huge fear and we’re all a little shaken by it. But she’s in the hospital, she’s in the right place, and all the kids are going to see her with Ryan today [Kerry’s fiance].”

Opening up about her work situation, Kerry explained, “I’ve got two shows to go and two more shows tomorrow. It was great fun, those pantos, but I can’t wait to get home and see my mom.”

Kerry played the evil queen in The Sleeping Beauty.

The actress said her mother has had several heart attacks in the past and she hopes to make her well again.

The star said she went straight to her mother’s house when the attack took place, but was not allowed to follow her to the hospital or see her again before returning to the pantomime.

“Everyone says many prayers to protect them. And I’ll see you soon, Mum,” Kerry promised as she said goodbye.

The mother was soon inundated with messages of support from her fans.

“Speedy recovery to your mother Kerry and lots of prayers and healing thoughts of you Sue! Stay strong,” said one.

“Sorry to hear about your mama, my prayers and thoughts are with you honey,” added another.

Kerry announced last year that she was moving closer to her mother Sue because of her health issues.

The pair didn’t always have such a close bond after Kerry revealed she gave her daughter speed when she was just 14.

Speaking of her unconventional relationship with her mother, Kerry previously explained, “I was the mother and my mother was the daughter. I have always taken care of my mother. There was something in me from such a young age.

“That’s why I won’t change anything about my past. I always say to my mother: ‘master it’, what I’ve done. I’ve made mistakes in my life, luckily my children never saw anything.

“But I will admit my mistakes. And so many people don’t do that. I won’t play victim, I’m a survivor. I will take responsibility for what happened because nobody forced me to do anything and it got out of control.

“I have to take some kind of responsibility, own it, learn from it and move on. And going through what I went through – what we both went through – even more so for myself – it made me who I am today. I’m not saying what happened was right.”
