Comedian Kevin Bridges has been recognized with the award as the artist with the most shows at the Scottish Events Facility (SEC).

e was the first person to be awarded an award by the entertainment complex after 16 sold-out nights and overdue the performance contract at OVO Hydro.

It brings his total of performances at the entertainment venue, including Hydro, SEC Armadillo and SEC Center, to 63.

Bridges was presented with the platinum artist award backstage on Thursday night as the run drew to a close.

The comedian, who was originally from Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, but now lives in Glasgow’s West End, said being back in front of a home audience was “magic”.

He added: “To receive this award is the icing on the cake for what has been an outstanding month.

“Nothing can beat the feeling of performing in your own city, and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come to see me here over the past 12 years.”

“It is always a pleasure to welcome Kevin back to the SEC, and this year is even more so as he achieves this important milestone,” said Debbie McWilliams, Director of Live Entertainment for the SEC.

“It is fitting that the homegrown talent is the recipient of our first platinum artist award. Kevin is now paving the way for other artists to be recognized with this new award.”
