Kevin Bridges jokes that the Queen “won’t be the only old woman to die this winter” at a gig in Glasgow.

KEVIN Bridges has been pushing ahead with a series of shows in Glasgow despite many events being canceled following the Queen’s death, and joked “she won’t be the only old woman to die this winter”.

Bridges joked he was wearing his signature black suit “in homage” to the late monarch and said it would likely be “the last show before we go back into lockdown”.

The audience at the Hydro roared with laughter in a video shared on TikTok.

He has performed his new show in Glasgow from 1st to 25th September.

Bridges said: “Good evening on this historic evening.

“This is my 40th time performing at this venue so I’m sure you’ll be reading about it in all the newspapers in the morning, on the front page of the Daily Telegraph.

“Doors opened at 6.30pm and she held out, she would have wanted that, so welcome.”

And he joked that Prime Minister Liz Truss would take the opportunity to bury bad news, saying she would “add a zero” to the new £2500 price cap announced on Thursday before news of the Queen’s death broke.

He added: “I was up until 5am grieving.

“The show goes on, she won’t be the only old woman to die this winter.”
