Kevin Spacey charged with seven more sexual assault charges

Prosecutors say actor Kevin Spacey will be charged with a series of additional sex crimes against a man.

Rosemary Ainslie, head of CPS’ Special Crimes Division, said: “CPS has authorized additional criminal prosecution against Kevin Spacey, 63, for several sexual assaults against a man from 2001 to 2004.

The latest announcement comes after Spacey won a civil lawsuit in the US, where he was accused of “unwanted solicitation” at a party in 1986.

In that lawsuit, he “firmly denied” the allegations and said he “did not harbor any sexual interests or desires” at the time or since the alleged incident.

After appearing at the Old Bailey earlier this year, Spacey was released on unconditional bail until a further hearing next year.

The five alleged offenses he has denied are believed to have occurred in London and Gloucestershire between 2005 and 2013.

Mr Justice Wall set a trial period of three to four weeks from June 6 next year.
