Khamzat Chimaev hailed as ‘scary’ for coaching rising UFC stars with Darren Till

Former UFC title challenger Till has flown to Sweden to train with rising star Chimaev, who is linked to face top contender Gilbert Burns in his next bout

The prospect of UFC Khamzat Chimaev’s spike has been described as “really scary” ahead of his return to the cage date.

Chimaev – who was supposed to fight Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 – is currently training with former welterweight challenger Darren Till in Sweden.

Till recently flew to Stockholm to train at Allstars Gym with Chimaev after the pair teased a meeting on social media.

Liverpudlian is hoping Chimaev, a consummate freestyle wrestler, can improve his grappling skills after being overtaken by Derek Brunson in his final bout.

And former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has heard that Chimaev is getting the most out of Till in the gym.

“I’m hearing really scary things about Khamzat. Like I said, Darren Till is out there. I have a lot of friends in Sweden,” he said. YouTube channel.

“They’re filming. Blockasset is a company I’m associated with and they’re calling me up and saying, ‘Oh my god! Khamzat is the real thing!’

“His good performance, training like a ***** mom, lifting weights, pushing everyone in the room. Great stand up, great wrestling.”

11th place in the first division Chimaev could break through the top 10 of the tournament for the title with a win over Burns.

‘Borz’ has switched between middle and heavyweight during his four wins in the UFC and has named champions in both divisions.

But Bisping thinks Chimaev should focus on beating 170-pound Kamaru Usman first before thinking about returning to the weight division.

“Obviously Gilbert Burns isn’t walking in the park, but that fight isn’t even official yet, but he still has to beat Usman before even thinking about rising to 185. [pounds]”, Bisping said.

Chimaev named middleweight champion Israel Adesanya after he defended his title at UFC 271 by knocking out Robert Whittaker in their rematch.

“[Israel Adesanya] easy money for me, 0 struggle. 1 round, I’ll kill him,” Chimaev wrote to the upper middleweight champion Twitter.

Adesanya declined to answer during his post-match press conference prompting some fans to accuse him of straining to take on Chimaev, which Bisping denied.

“I don’t think Israel is worried, there’s no reason when Khamzat isn’t in the room that Israel should be worried when someone says ‘oh Khamzat just tweeted that,'” he added.

Chimaev is underrated in middleweight and will likely need to be some of the top contenders before securing a spot in Adesanya, who will likely defend his belt against the next Jared Cannonier.
