Kim Cattrall is in the middle of a promotional tour for Netflix’ “Glamorous‘, but also opens up about her upcoming appearance in ‘And Just Like That,’ Max’s ‘Sex and the City’ revival.
In a teaser for a new interview Speaking on NBC’s Today, the actress gushed about how she and the famed Sex and the City costume designer worked together Patricia Field prepared for her cameo as Samantha Jones with a trip to the luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman.
“We got a great one damned outfit and that short scene,” Cattrall said in the interview, which will air in full Friday. “It felt like going back in time and having a wonderful afternoon followed by a great martini.”
Though Cattrall went on to note that she doesn’t think she’ll “ever say goodbye to Samantha entirely,” she did hint that fans shouldn’t expect the character to return in “And Just.” after the cameo in August Like That” would show up.
“I’ll go that far,” she said.

Cattrall played Samantha to great acclaim in all six seasons of Sex and the City, as well as the two feature films in the series.
Still, news of her upcoming appearance on And Just Like That shocked fans. The actor has repeatedly declined to reprise the role in interviews and further social mediaapparently confirming rumors about a feud behind the scenes with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.
Parker was reportedly not on set when Cattrall was filming her “And Just Like That” scene. In an article published by The Hollywood Reporter Last week, showrunner Michael Patrick King traced Cattrall’s decision to return to the 25th Anniversary from “Sex and the City,” which premiered in 1998.
“[Cattrall] said she hung up the Samantha wardrobe, and then something magical happened behind the scenes because suddenly there was a chance it could happen,” he said. “Fans were always asking about Samantha, and something happened where I suddenly thought, ‘If it’s possible, maybe I can come up with a little nice little treat.’ And that is exactly what happened.”
