Kim Kardashian has faced backlash for allegedly damaging a dress worn by Marilyn Monroe to John F Kennedy on his 45th birthday.
The 41-year-old TV star received Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! museum, after months of planning.
She then wore the nude dress to the 2022 Met Gala in New York, where she walked the red carpet with boyfriend Pete Davidson.
However, Kim was criticized by a Marilyn Monroe collector, who claimed that “permanent damage” had been caused to the dress.
After the movie, the Diet Drama gossip forum also took to Instagram to share new photos of the dress.
The photos show how the fabric has been stretched around the open back of the dress.
Many users commented to stone the Kardashians star, with one saying: “All the money in the world and she can’t just make a copy?”
Another said: “This is so sad. Why couldn’t she get a designer to recreate a similar one with this as inspiration?!”
A third posted: “Kim world won’t forgive you for this.”

However, others took issue with Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! for lending her the dress.
One person wrote: “I don’t even blame Kim… I blame the museum curators for letting this happen. They found the dress didn’t fit perfectly and let her wear it anyway.”
A second complained: “Wow… they’re NOT on loan, so who’s to blame?”
While another added: “This dress is for no one but Marilyn. Shame on @ripleys Believeitornot for being paid for lending it to KK.”
Kim famously lost 16 pounds to wear the historic dress.

This involves a diet without sugar and carbohydrates, running on a treadmill and wearing a sauna suit twice a day.
Ahead of the celebration, the reality star told Vogue: “I have the utmost respect for the dress and its significance to American history.
“I would never want to sit in it or eat in it or take any risk of any damage to it and I wouldn’t put on my body makeup like I usually do.”
Meanwhile, the owner of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! at the time said that “great care has been taken to preserve this piece of popular culture history”.
A representative added: “With input from garment conservationists, appraisers and archivists, the condition of the garment comes first… without any change. for the dress and Kim even changed into a replica after the red carpet! ”
