Kim Kardashian gave Marilyn Monroe a lock of hair before wearing an iconic dress to the 2022 Met Gala
Kim Kardashian not only wore Marilyn Monroe’s dress to the 2022 Met Gala, she’s now the proud new owner of a lock of hair from the Hollywood screen icon.
In a video shared by Ripley’s Believe It or Not Instagram page, the SKIMS mogul, 41, is seen receiving the lock in a small silver box.
“During @KimKardashian’s Met Gala dress rehearsal at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! HQ, our team surprised her with a silver box containing a real lock of Marilyn’s iconic platinum hair,” read the caption on the post.”
It added, “The team at Ripley’s also filled their Met Gala dressing room with a treasure trove of Marilyn Monroe and JFK memorabilia to inspire their look.”
Left open-mouthed by the gesture, the mum-of-four told the camera: “Oh my god I’m literally going to do some crazy voodoo shit and channel her.
“This is so special to me. Thank you, that’s so cool.”
Speaking to his off-camera boyfriend Pete Davidson, 28, Kardashian added, “That sleeps with me every night…sorry baby.”
The reality TV star stole the show when she walked the red carpet in the dazzling dress at the prestigious fashion event in New York on Monday.

Monroe wore the dress in 1962, just months before her death, as she sang the infamous Happy Birthday, Mr. President to President John F. Kennedy.
The one-of-a-kind gold ensemble was created by executives from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for a whopping $4.8 million (£3.8 million) at auction in 2016.

It has since been kept in a temperature-controlled vault at a museum in Orlando, Florida.
Kardashian teamed up with the museum to wear Monroe’s dress to the Met Gala for 10 minutes before turning it into a replica.
