Kimberly Guilfoyle’s John Gotti reference backfires badly

Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle tried to defend her boyfriend’s father on Tuesday after he brought the latest felony charges, but the shot failed.

The conservative media personality appeared on Newsmax to discuss allegations against Donald Trump, unveiled Monday in Georgia, that he tried to press local election officials to reverse his narrow 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden.

However, Guilfoyle’s defense didn’t work as intended, in part because she quoted John Gotti in a way that made the notorious mobster seem superior to the former Republican president.

She accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) accused the prosecution of using her “for their own political ends and advancements and fundraising therefrom.”

Guilfoyle, who was an assistant district attorney in San Francisco from 2000 to 2004, also attacked Willis’ decision to indict Trump under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) law.

It seemed Guilfoyle was saying Gotti was less criminal than Trump because fewer charges were being brought against the gangster.

“It’s just absolutely ridiculous” she said. “And John Gotti? OK, can you imagine RICO violations? John Gotti never had four charges at once. There is no crime boss, let alone do something like this to the President Trump card.”
