Kinder is recalling MORE products – including mini eggs – just days before Easter

Chocolate maker Ferrero says it recalled Kinder products as a “precautionary measure” and advised people not to eat them for fear of salmonella

Kinder has issued an urgent warning after recalling more chocolate products – including mini eggs – over salmonella fears.

Ferrero, manufacturer of Kinder chocolate, initially recalled Kinder Surprise eggs as a precaution over the weekend – now the list has been expanded.

The Food Standards Agency has announced that the recall of Kinder Surprise eggs has been extended to other products – including Kinder Mini Eggs and Kinder Egg Hunt Kits.

Kinder chocolates were pulled from the shelves over fears they could be contaminated with salmonella.

To date, 63 people have contracted salmonella, with a large number of cases in children aged five years or younger.

The Food Standard Agency confirmed the recall of Kinder products and said: “This is linked to a possible link to a salmonella outbreak. A number of those cases were young children.”

It added: “To reduce the risk of further illness, consumers should not eat the products listed in the recall warning and they/the parents or guardians of children should follow the risk advice contained therein.”

Affected are 20 g eggs and three-pack eggs with a best-before date of October 7, 2022.

An additional recall has been added for 100g Kinder Surprise Eggs including all dates from April 20, 2022 through August 21, 2022.

Kinder Mini Eggs in a pack size of 75g, Kinder Egg Hunt Kit in a size of 150g and Kinder Schokobons in 200g are also included – again with all dates from April 20th to August 21st.
