Kris Jenner got emotional as she recalled a heated argument in 2016 she heard about between her son Rob Kardashian and his then-girlfriend Blac Chyna that traumatized him.
Enner testified Friday on the witness stand in a Los Angeles courtroom that she believed Chyna tried to murder her son. At the time, she said she was told Chyna pointed a gun at Kardashian’s head, attempted to strangle him with a phone cord, and beat him with a metal rod while intoxicated.
“It was a complete mess. It was scary,” said Jenner, the 66-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians matriarch. She is the first of four defendants – a group that also includes her daughters Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner – to testify in Blac Chyna’s $100 million lawsuit alleging the women conspired to cancel her reality show Rob & Chyna and damage her celebrity status.
Earlier this week, much of Chyna’s statements revolved around the fight and the show’s renewal celebration the night before. Chyna testified that she was joking with her fiancé as she wrapped a phone cord around his neck and took his unloaded gun from a bedside table.
But Kris Jenner said it was “no joke” about pointing a gun to her son’s head.
“He was a mess,” she recalled while speaking to her son after the December 15, 2016 incident. “I could only imagine how he felt. … That was a terrible situation. My heart was broken.”
Kris Jenner started crying as he recalled the argument between Rob Kardashian and Chyna, which took place months after Kim Kardashian was robbed in Paris. She said knowing that a gun was pointed at her two children in the same year was traumatizing for her.
“While Rob’s situation was ongoing, Kim was dealing with Paris,” she said. “He had a gun pointed to his head and she was held at gunpoint and thrown in a bathtub. That’s a lot to endure as a mother.”
While on the stand, Kris Jenner said her boyfriend Corey Gamble broke up her son and Chyna – who she says smashed an expensive TV in the master bedroom. But after Gamble pulled her apart and asked Rob Kardashian to leave, she was told that Chyna had thrown a chair at the windshield of her son’s car.

In her questioning, Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, asked why Jenner or anyone else didn’t call the police. Jenner said her security team — former Los Angeles Police Department officers — helped defuse the intense ordeal.
Kris Jenner claims she wanted to help Chyna. She said arguments between the pair were an “ongoing theme” in their relationship, which included alcoholic beverages and drugs.
“We didn’t put Chyna on the show and give her this fabulous life to have it taken from her,” she said. “We created other opportunities. I was hoping it would be okay. That’s why I didn’t call (the police).”
Ciani sought clarification on a text message Kris Jenner had sent to the Rob & Chyna showrunner that said Chyna was “going to punch Rob the (expletive) out of his face.” She said the phrase was used as a figure of speech.
Kris Jenner likened her innuendo to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the last Oscars.
“It’s like you’re at an awards show and you get slapped,” she said, while making the jury and several others in the courtroom laugh while her daughters’ expressions remained stoic.
Ciani asked for another text she sent to the showrunner that read, “We have to give this up (expletive)” after her son’s altercation with the Chyna. Jenner said she was very angry and upset at the time, but claims she was never involved in interfering with Chyna’s time on the show.
“It’s not my proudest moment, but that’s how I felt at the time,” she said.
Chyna’s lawsuit, filed in 2017, alleges defamation and infringement of contracts. It accuses Kris Jenner of being a ringleader who used her daughters in a campaign to defame Chyna as abusive towards Rob Kardashian.
Kris Jenner would serve as executive producer on the couple’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians spinoff Rob & Chyna, which aired on the E! network later in September 2016. She said she had nothing to do with the network’s decision not to pick up the reality show for a second season.
Since Kris Jenner is her son’s manager, she said she would receive a letter saying the show was “green lighted.” But she says they never received a letter exercising the option.
Chyna and Rob Kardashian have a daughter together named Dream.
