Krishnan Guru-Murthy apologizes ‘unnecessarily’ for cursing Steve Baker

Channel 4 broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy apologized “unnecessarily” to Northern Ireland Minister Steve Baker after cursing him in an “undeserved moment”.

His broadcaster said the comment followed a “robust interview” with Mr Baker but it was “well below the standards I set for myself”.

It comes after another tumultuous day in Westminster that saw Suella Braverman resign as home secretary.

In an indirect moment after the conversation with Mr Baker, Guru-Murthy was heard saying “what is real”.

He later tweeted: “Following a powerful interview with congressman Steve Baker, I used a very offensive word in a moment of disapproval.

“Although it was not broadcast, that statement in any context is still within the standard that I have set for myself and I sincerely apologize.

“I’ve reached out to Steve Baker to apologize.”

Baker later responded to the tweet accepting the apology.

“I appreciate your apology. Thank you,” he wrote. Krishnan Guru-Murthy apologizes ‘unnecessarily’ for cursing Steve Baker
