Kym Marsh has been announced as the second celebrity contestant to appear on Dance Come Dancing.
he is a singer, actress and TV presenter, 46, with actor Will Mellor in the lineup, which will be announced in the next few days.
Marsh found fame in the band Hear’Say, formed through the ITV show Popstars in 2001, before turning to acting and starring as Michelle Connor in Coronation Street.
Marsh currently co-presents Morning Live with Gethin Jones and recently appeared in the touring production of Fatal Attraction.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast via video call from holiday, she said: “I’m really looking forward to it. I’m nervous – but I’m really looking forward to it.”
Marsh said her previous dance experience wouldn’t have helped her get on the show.
When asked about the dance style she is most interested in, she said, “I just really want to learn. See it, I used to dance before when I was a little girl and in Hear’Say but it’s a very different style of dance. “
She said her husband, Army Major Scott Ratcliff, was “extremely excited” about how she was about to teach him how to dance properly so they could dance together in jumbled balls.
Marsh was also joined on-screen by her parents Dave and Pauline, who she went on vacation with, with her mother saying she was a longtime fan of the show.
Asked how she would react to being grilled by the judges, Marsh replied, “Listen, I was judged by Nasty Nigel (Nigel Lythgoe) on Pop Stars. Do not forget that. He was the villain of that day.

“I think I’ll be fine with it. These are people that I really respect because this is what they do. I’ll have to suck it up, I guess. I will be fine. I’m not going to start waving at people or anything like that. “
Mellor also appeared on BBC Breakfast ahead of the 20th series, which will see audiences return to the studio this year, with the premiere scheduled to be taped on September 7.
The 46-year-old actor, who played Gaz on the hit Noughties sitcom Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, said Seriously was his mother Shirley’s favorite show and that following the death of his father me in 2020 because of cancer, I want to make new memories.
“The training side of it is one of the reasons why I do it,” he said. My mindset completely changed a while back and I just thought I had to start doing things that scared me a little bit and step out of your comfort zone, and that’s life.
“And when I got the phone call for this, I just said, ‘Yes, I’ll do it.’
“Also, I lost my dad in 2020 and I just thought from then on I had to embrace life and I had to do things and I had to make new memories and my thinking changed, and that’s it. one of the reasons why.
“It’s my mom’s favorite show so she’s been really struggling for the past few years so I thought, we’ll do this…”
Four new professional dancers will appear in the next series of Serious, making up the show’s biggest lineup ever.
It comes after two-time winners Oti Mabuse and Aljaz Skorjanec announced their departure.
The final series of Serious was won by Rose Ayling-Ellis alongside her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.
