British billionaire Alan Howard wed celebrity chef Caroline Byron in a stunning Italian wedding, while Lady Gaga serenaded the newlyweds and their hundreds of guests.

At the star-studded evening wear show at Villa Olmo in Como, Italy, the couple paid over £1million to close the massive 18th-century lakeside mansion for a month.

Her demands that the area be completely shut down before her big day angered the locals, but they shrugged and threw the ultimate party.

Angry local residents were treated to a huge fireworks display on the shores of Lake Como at the end of the night.

The money they paid to make it their own venue for a couple of weeks hardly affected the total bill as the wedding cost over £10million.

The amount was a drop in the ocean as the 59-year-old hedge fund manager was worth around £1.5 billion, according to Forbes’ rich list.

Caroline, 33, wore a flowing white dress with a cathedral-style veil, while her husband wore a traditional black suit for the occasion.

The guest list included singer Pixie Lott and her new husband Oliver Cheshire.

They enjoyed the Jewish ceremony under a chuppah covered with white flowers. Then superstar Lady Gaga performed before a huge fireworks display ended the evening in style.

Her setlist included the hit Shallow from the Oscar-winning film A Star Is Born

The couple, who welcomed a child in May, first tied the knot during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr Howard has four children with his ex-wife Sabine, from whom he divorced in 2015.

One expert predicted the flowers alone could cost her £500,000.

According to Chris Driver-Ayre, managing director of AYRE Event Solutions, the incredible entertainment makes it a reasonable value of around £2million.

“A named actor could cost anywhere from £80,000 to £1.2million,” he said.

“Someone like Lady Gaga will have a high reach, although since she’s a close friend of Pixie Lott, she might have done it for nothing. But there would still have been a big tech driver who would have been in the £10k – £20k range.

“‘Wedding fireworks can be extravagant, ranging from £5,000 for 10 minutes to well over £40,000,’ he told MailOnline.

The renovation would have also cost them a large sum and redecorated the already incredible garden with a massive flower arch.

In her book Gluten-Free Naturally, the chef has been open about her health struggles after contracting Lyme disease as a child.

“While this did not prevent her from pursuing a successful modeling career and retraining to become a chef, Caroline became increasingly frustrated with these health issues,” reads the book’s description.

“She decided to completely overhaul her diet and go gluten-free. The change in her health has been amazing.”

They can certainly afford to spend a lot of money on their wedding.

In 2014, the tycoon was ranked 53rd on the UK Sunday Times Rich List.

The European hedge fund company is a world leader and specializes in macro trading.
