A LARGE tent and main stage for this year’s Pride celebrations was set up ahead of the weekend’s celebrations.
Organizers have made significant progress preparing Preston Park for the thousands of revelers expected at this year’s We Are Fabuloso Festival to mark the return of Brighton and Hove Pride.
Cranes, trucks and other vehicles were seen on the site as the stage was being built.
The circus-style tent will feature a host of musicians this weekend, including award-winning singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera, who will headline the main stage.
A high and long metal fence was erected across the park to ensure the safety of festival-goers and prevent entry by those without a ticket.
Several refreshment tents have already been set up around the park before the festival opens to visitors on Saturday.
The last Pride in the Park event of 2019 included a Bame stage, a “diva dance tent” and several rides.
This year’s celebrations are the first after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will mark the 30th anniversary of Pride in Brighton and Hove.
Todrick Hall, Paloma Faith, Ella Henderson and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK stars Bimini and Tia Kofi are among the other acts who will perform.
The community parade through Brighton and Hove, the village fete in Kemp Town and the traditional dog show also take place over the weekend as part of the celebrations.
