Gardaí seized a large quantity of drugs worth around 118,300 euros, a firearm and ammunition in a raid in Dublin yesterday.
A Garda spokesman said the search was part of an ongoing investigation by an organized crime group operating in the Finglas area.
“As a result of the ongoing investigation into an organized crime group operating in the Finglas area, Gardaí have been arrested by the Finglas District Detective Unit by the Divisional Search Unit, the Finglas and Blanchardstown Community Policing Units, the Finglas Drugs Unit and Assisted by the Garda Dog Unit, the Armed Support Unit and regular units in Finglas carried out an extensive search operation which began in the Dublin 11 area on Thursday morning 21 July.
“During the search, suspected controlled drugs worth €118,300 were found. All drugs seized are sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
“A suspicious firearm was also found and confiscated by Gardaí. The suspected firearm has been sent to the Garda Ballistics Unit for analysis.”
Gardaí said no arrests were made at this stage of this ongoing investigation.
