Laura Whitmore will make her West End debut next month


Laura Whitmore is making her West End debut next month following the conclusion of Love Island’s eighth series.

Bray native hosted Love Island Reunion which was pre-recorded for 2022 on Sunday night and is moving on to her next project.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Laura announced that she will be taking the stage at the Criterion Theater in London’s West End from September.

Sharing a photo of her cast, the 37-year-old wrote: “News!!! I will be joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story from September 6th! Come meet me on the stage of my West End debut in this critically acclaimed psychological thriller. For a limited time only, Book now! “

Laura will play Jenny in the award-winning supernatural thriller, taking over from Doctor Who star Mandip Gill.

Speaking of her new role, she said she was “excited” to be coming to the West End for the first time.

“The theater has always been my first love and I can’t wait to get back on the stage. I was a huge fan of previous productions and was delighted to be able to participate in rehearsals and work alongside such an incredibly talented cast and team,” she said.

The play follows Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted, as she hosts dinner with her husband Sam (Felix Scott).

The couple and their guests, Lauren (Tamsin Carroll) and Ben (Busted singer Matt Willis), decide to stay until 2:22 to see if any spirits join the party.

After Laura’s exciting announcement, a bunch of celebrity friends flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages.

Laura’s husband and Love Island vocalist Iain Stirling wrote: “Can’t wait!!!!!”

It comes after Laura made the “difficult decision” to leave her BBC Radio 5 show last month after four years on the air.

The mother of one revealed that she has some “very exciting news” to celebrate the days following her abandonment of the show.

Sharing some moments from her date night with her husband Iain in Mallorca before the Love Island final, she wrote: “Small ceremony last night. I am a big believer in time and yesterday everything settled down and I received some very interesting news.

“Sometimes life goes by so fast that you forget to be still and just enjoy the moment. It’s going to be a busy year so breathing is very important.” Laura Whitmore will make her West End debut next month
