TV and radio presenter Laura Whitmore was enjoying a Love Island dividend this year as her entertainment company’s cash pile soared to £2.66million (€3million).
New reports show that Whitmore’s Yer Wan Ltd has had its best-ever year on the back of its lucrative deal with ITV this year island of love.
The show has made her one of the most recognizable faces on television.
New accounts show that Yer Wan Ltd posted an after-tax profit of £719,446 (€822,026) in the 12 months to the end of March this year, followed by an after-tax profit of £654,688 a year earlier.
The rise in profits at the Co. Wicklow woman’s company last year saw cumulative profits soar from £1.84m to £2.56m.
Record year for Yer Wan Ltd saw the company’s cash position increase from £1.634m to £2.662m. Total tax and national insurance due within a year was £433,996.
Whitmore’s work on island of love In recent years it has put them in a higher earning bracket than RTÉ’s highest-paid presenters, where the latest figures show Ryan Tubridy being paid €495,000 in 2019.
However, days after the season finale, the 37-year-old left the lucrative show.
In August, Whitmore told her 1.5million followers on Instagram: “There are certain elements of the show that I have found very difficult and cannot be changed, some due to the format including flying back and forth to South Africa together with my new conflicting projects.”
The TV personality presented her first series of island of love Early 2020 and presented two more series, including the last summer edition.
Earlier this month it was announced that Ms Whitmore is to narrate a new dating program, date night, for Prime Video.
Whitmore is currently based in London in her first West End production, playing Jenny in the supernatural thriller 2:22 A ghost story.
Along with the departure island of loveWhitmore announced in July that she was leaving her BBC Radio 5 Live show.
Profits over the past two years are a sharp rise in profits from £326,978 in 2020 and £165,362 in 2019.
Earnings for Whitmore’s business – which employs one person – are not disclosed, and the earnings represent royalties on television and radio services.
