Lauren Laverne has revealed an unfortunate coincidence her first time co-hosting Pointless, in which the show’s contestants were asked about the tenure of UK prime ministers.

Sharing the news on Thursday, Laverne wrote: My first column on #Pointless: UK Prime Ministers and how long they last.

“Just for the sake of flagging, we pre-recorded the show.”

Elsewhere, other famous faces have reacted to the news of Ms Truss leaving Downing Street after a tumultuous week in Westminster.

Irish pop duo Jedward points out that they have been contestants on the X Factor, longer than Ms. Truss has held.

Appearing to poke fun at the former Prime Minister, comedian Joe Lycett tweeted: “@trusslix omg just heard there is a leadership election next week????? u shud run babe youd be perfect !! “

Comedian Stephen Fry also expressed concern about who will succeed Ms. Truss in the role.
