Leaked images from Forza Motorsport suggest it’s coming to Xbox One too

It looks like the next Forza Motorsport might come along Xbox One after leaked images of a build of the game surfaced online.

Announced back in 2020, the next Forza game has been unveiled, which is believed to be a reboot of sorts in the motorsport series. Little has been revealed of the game so far, but a leak on the r/gamingleaksandrumours subreddit shows some leaked screenshots, which the moderation team has claimed are authentic.

“Tired of people saying its just next gen, here are some pics of the Xbox One build from around last July,” wrote the user who shared the screenshots to the subreddit. The screenshots themselves reveal nothing too fancy or surprising. One just shows a couple of cars in a big garage, the other just three people standing on a race track.

developer 10 turn held a playtest last year to get direct player feedback on the next Forza Motorsport. So it could be that the user who shared the leaked images did so from that particular playtest.

The next motorsport game was described as a “reimagining” of the series when it was announced, and that it would run natively at 4K, 60fps and use ray tracing. All of this adds up to a game that’s quite difficult to run, especially on a last-gen console.

It could be that an Xbox One version of the game doesn’t quite meet these specs in order to make it run better on the console. If there’s an Xbox One version, it could also be because it’s generally difficult to get hold of a new-gen console due to supply chain issues.

We still don’t know when we can expect the next motorsport game to be released, which is particularly strange considering the previous entry in the series is no longer available digitally.
