Levi Colwill tapped England when he went to Brighton

Albion will get a player of ‘amazing’ maturity when they sign Levi Colwill.

The Chelsea defender is on loan for the new season.

He shone at Huddersfield last season when they reached the play-off final.

David Hartrick, Opta’s soil analyst for Huddersfield, has been keeping a close eye on Colwill throughout last season.

He ideally sees him in the left role in a threesome cast by Marc Cucurella last season.

Hartrick, who is also an Albion fan, told The Argus: “He’s a great player who has been played at left-back last season and also marked at left-back on occasion.

“The maturity at his age is amazing. He’s comfortable on the ball coming from defence, his positioning is decent but maybe that’s the only area he needs to work on given his age and experience, but his recovery pace is so good he rarely gets into trouble that he can’t get himself out.”

Hartrick, who appears on the Ooh To Be A Terrier podcast, rates Colwill as a good all-rounder.

He added: “We spent last season saying on our podcast that he’s a future England captain – definitely got caps in his future – and he’s a lovely boy too.

“As a bonus, he’s also dangerous from set pieces.” Levi Colwill tapped England when he went to Brighton
