LIBERTY POOLE swore to be Dancing On Ice’s sexiest contender.
She said that the figure skating costumes in the mini TV show didn’t make her fall in love after spend eight weeks in a bikini in front of millions of people on Love Island.
22-year-old Brummie won an army of fans when she made it to the final week of the ITV2 series in 2021 alongside her current ex-boyfriend Jake Cornish.
Liberty hopes to impress again as she steps out onto the court for tonight’s first show alongside her pro skating partner Joe Johnson.
And she says she has no problem showing her sex appeal on tape – although she does admit that the show judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean had to give her tips to become more flexible.
She said: “Dancing On Ice’s outfit is revealing but feels modest compared to the bikinis I’ve been in for almost 24 hours a day on Love Island.
“I’ve tried one so far and I love it, it’s beautiful. I can’t wait for people to come see it.
“My first routine was as a pure independent woman who had really sassy vibes, and I loved putting my personality into it and being a sassy queen.
“I think that’s my secret weapon on the show.
“But one thing that isn’t my secret weapon is flexibility – I’m actually quite inflexible.
“Jayne and Chris have told me I should do some yoga sessions to help, so I’m trying that.”
Liberty, a former Nando service worker, is the latest former Love Island resident to join the show, following Wes Nelson and Maura Higgins.
Tea-sy way to diet
LIBERTY has dodged a health hit to go on her rigorous new skating regimen, saying, “I’m still on the same diet.”
Reality TV lovers’ guilty pleasures include burgers and sweet tea.
But she told how she still lost weight thanks to hours of ice training.
Liberty said: “I love my McDonald’s. I still love my sugary teas. The tea I’m drinking right now has three types of sugar in it.
“I have a proper sweet tooth. Maybe my skating practice is the reason why I lost weight.
“I wouldn’t even say I lost a load. I don’t know for sure because I didn’t consider it myself.
“I’ve definitely lost some, but I’m still just me.”
And while she said Maura’s sixth place in 2020 may be within reach, Wes’ 2019 runner-up title is more of a challenge.
But Liberty said she is determined to enter this year’s competition with “full force”, warning competitors she is not afraid to perform extremely dangerous stunts on the ice.
She was more afraid of suffering a fake meltdown than trying to take down the notorious hoodlum on the ice.
Liberty added: “I spoke to Maura after signing up for the show and she told me it was the most amazing experience and that I wanted every second of it.
“So now I’m going full force.
“I was pretty competitive and I wanted to do better than the other Love Islanders that were in, but Wes came in second, so that’s going to be pretty hard to beat.
“The competition will be one of the hottest this year but I hope I do well.
“I’ve always been an adrenaline junkie and skating can feel a bit like a roller coaster.
“When Joe lifted me up in the air and turned me very quickly, I really felt really safe.
“And I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone, so I suggested things we can do to make this habit more dangerous.
“I’m definitely strong for headers.”
She added with a laugh: “A fake tan disaster on the show would be horrible. My worst was when I wore this fake tan for a shift at Nando’s.
“It was before a night out so I applied it under my foundation, and when the shift got on, I actually went green because the tan had a bit of green in it.
“Everybody says I look like Fiona from Shrek.”
Liberty, who had an emotionally tumultuous time on Love Island, also said how her romantic ups and downs will help her do a series of routines with Joe.
And she says she will need to draw on those experiences, as her real love life is freezing.
I talked to Maura after signing up for the program and
she told me it was one of the best things she ever did and that i would love every second
She revealed: “Doing romantic routines with Joe will be more of a challenge, because we laugh all the time.
“Seriously it will be much harder. But I’m open to trying anything, and I think it’s going to be pretty fun playing different characters – being a sassy queen one week, heartbroken the next week and falling in love the next.
“Really it will be like Love Island.
“I don’t have time for real-life love right now because I’m too busy and I’m not interested in using dating apps.
“I tried Tinder and just got bored. I’m terrible when it comes to texting people and guys just think I’m giving them a change.
“I’m a social person and wanted to meet someone real and see if there was a vibe.
“But I am sure that when the time is right for me to meet that person, I will.”
Last year saw Liberty affiliated with Joey Essex after they were photographed whispering to each other at a premiere.
EXCLUSIVE by Amir Razavi
DANCING On Ice hopes Brendan Cole has scaled back his business while drowning in £83,000 in debt – including £28,000 owed to tax staff.
Brendan, 45 years old, partnered with German expert Vanessa Bauer for the new run of the ITV skating show starting this evening, has also asked its company for a maximum £50,000 government-backed Coronavirus payback loan.
Kiwi’s former professional Stricly Come Dancing player has placed Brendan Cole Ltd in voluntary liquidation and proceedings began in November.
His ‘amusement and entertainment’ company has assets of £48,684, short of his mountain of debt, figures from its statement of affairs show.
What the company owes includes £22,000 in corporate tax, £6,000 in PAYE and National Insurance contributions, £4,600 for “various employees”, plus £400 for accountants.
Brendan owns 70% of the business, with his wife Zoe holding the remaining 30%.
We have approached his agent for comment.
But she insists they’re not dating and says: “Me and Joey are just friends. We have met a few times and we have the same management.
“He’s a lovely guy, and bold Essex boys are my type.
“But nothing happened between us.”
While Liberty is currently putting all her energy into Dancing On Ice, she said she’s excited to see where the show will lead her.
And she said that she would love to try her hand at TV host or film in the future.
She said, “If I’m being honest, I’m not the most natural social media influencer, but I love doing other TV shows and I wanted to try doing TV shows.
“Acting runs in my family – my mother has a first degree in drama – and I wanted to play the part Bond Girl a day. That would be a top dream.
“That said, I think acting talent may have skipped a generation for me. I did an audition in high school and they said I just looked constipated.
“But that was a decade ago, so who knows?
“Perhaps I have a secret talent I haven’t discovered yet.”
- New series of Dancing On Ice starts at 6:30pm tonight on ITV
