GERMAN’s supermarket giant Lidl is having a big hiring spree in Ireland – with more than 750 new jobs being filled.

The popular chain will be hunted for hire in a variety of roles across 214 Irish stores, four regional distribution centers and at its headquarters in Dublin.

Lidl bosses have also announced a huge €10 million investment to boost the wages of their 6,100 workforce across the island of Ireland.

Employees will benefit from a salary increase from 1 March along with the company’s recent commitment to pay a new living wage of €12.90.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar described the recruitment campaign as a “real vote of confidence in the Irish economy”.

“Lidl’s decision to hire 750 more staff this year is a vote of real confidence in the company’s existing team here and indeed the retail sector as well as the economy as a whole,” he said. Ireland.
