The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations came to a spectacular end when she appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her heirs, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.
They were joined by Camilla, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to wave to tens of thousands of well-wishers who had previously gathered on the Mall for the anniversary competition.
The family waved to the crowd before the national anthem was played and spent a very short time chatting before red, white and blue smoke billowed from a stage before heading back into the palace.

And professional lipreader John Cassidy has revealed why he thinks the Queen looked surprised during her balcony moment, particularly at the end of a rousing version of God Save The Queen.

There was great cheering as The Firm took to the balcony for their short and sweet visit, which lasted just three minutes, with thousands of Union flags flying in the chilly London weather.
Dressed in a lime green coat with a matching hat and carrying her walking stick, the Queen watched as the people sang the national anthem.

The Queen’s balcony appearance was her third of the four-day weekend and comes after she was forced to withdraw from Friday’s Thanksgiving service and the Epsom Derby yesterday.
The royal finale comes at the end of a spectacular pageant, which saw thousands of members of the public and national treasures of celebrities parade around Buckingham Palace in outlandish costumes to symbolize seven decades of the Queen’s reign.
George, Charlotte and Louis were among the guests of honor who watched the event from the royal box. They sat in the front row with parents William and Kate.
After stealing the show with his incredible facial expression at Trooping of the Color on Thursday, Louis once again entertained the crowd by joking around with the other young royals. He could be seen playing with his pillow, covering his eyes and dancing in his seat.
He was also seen tucking into some chocolate, covering his mother Kate’s mouth with his hand and at one point being entertained by his grandfather Charles.
