Live A Live will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022. It’s only available in one version, and there’s no pre-order bonus for it yet. But if you’re a fan of classic JRPGs, you might want to close your pre-orders (watch it on amazon).
Below you’ll find links to where you can pre-order Live A Live, along with how much it costs and exactly what game it is. Let’s dive in.
Pre-order Live A Live
No special editions have been announced so far, so the standard version is the only one available.
What is Live A Live?
If you’re not familiar with Live A Live, you’re not alone. It was a 1994 SNES game published by Square and released only in Japan. This “HD-2D” remake represents the first time the game has been localized for the West.
The game itself is a turn-based RPG that lets you play through a series of scenarios that take place in different times and places throughout history. For example, you’ll visit prehistoric settings, the Wild West, imperial China, Edo period Japan, and even the future. Each location has its own story for you to join, and the change of the battle system.
This version is completely remastered in the same art style as the version used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy. It also has additional voiceovers.
If you’re a fan of the classic Square RPG of the SNES era (Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger), this is a game worth following.
