Liverpool have suffered a setback in their attempt to sign Bukayo Saka from Arsenal.

Van Dijk’s defiant message

Virgil van Dijk has issued a defiant message as Liverpool are confronted with a fixture list from hell after their game FA Cup Success.

The Reds secured their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals with a 1-0 win over struggling championship side Nottingham Forest on Sunday. They can now look forward to a Wembley semi-final First League title contenders Manchester City.

The win means Liverpool could play 16 games in 56 days between April 2 and May 28 if they make it Champions League and FA Cup finals, meeting Benfica twice in the Champions League quarter-finals and Manchester City twice in the FA Cup semi-finals and a title showdown at the Etihad in just 11 days. But defender Virgil van Dijk has shown how ready the club is for their tough run of games.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given a glimpse of what life could be like for the club after star players Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah left.

The two forwards could leave the Anfield club as early as this summer as their contracts expire at the end of next season. That has led to Liverpool fans fearing the future without their two African stars as their squad will be noticeably weaker if both depart.
