Jurgen Klopp denies Liverpool is the people’s choice for the Premier League title
Jurgen Klopp has responded to claims by Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola that “everyone” supports Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
The Reds fell further behind City in the table after their 1-1 draw with Spurs at the weekend as City picked up a 5-0 win over Newcastle United. After that game, Guardiola had claimed: “Everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone.”
But Klopp has now fired back at Guardiola’s claims. It comes as the Reds boss also raised questions about who could succeed him as manager of the Anfield club.
And the Reds have reached a new agreement with Derby County to sign Kaide Gordon.

Kaide Gordon transfer arrangement
Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee with Derby County to lift Kaide Gordon’s resale clause.
The highly rated teenager joined Anfield last year in a deal worth around £1million upfront and a further £2million in potential add-ons. The deal also included a 20 per cent resale clause, but Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that this has now been removed in exchange for £500,000.
The money could give the county, which has been in administration since last September, a much-needed boost — and save the Reds millions in years to come.

Question raised by manager
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has responded to questions over whether Steven Gerrard could follow him at Anfield.
While the German hasn’t indicated he wants to leave anytime soon, there has been widespread speculation that Gerrard could one day follow in his footsteps and take over the coaching job at the Reds. And ahead of Tuesday night’s Premier League game between Liverpool and Gerrard’s Aston Villa, Klopp was asked if the former Rangers boss could succeed him.
And Klopp has admitted “it’s possible”.

Klopp reacts to Guardiola
Jurgen Klopp has fired back at Pep Guardiola’s claims that ‘everyone’ supports Liverpool in the Premier League title fight.
After his side hammered 5-0 at Newcastle United on Sunday, Guardiola had said: ‘Everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone. Of course, because Liverpool have an incredible history in European competition. Not in the Premier League because they’ve won one in 30 years but that’s not a problem at all.”
And Klopp couldn’t help but respond to the claims, saying Guardiola “maybe know more than I do”.
