Klopp outlines Diaz’s influence on Mane

On the eve of the showdown with United, Klopp explained how Luis Diaz’s arrival in January helped strengthen Sadio Mane.

The latter has been moved to a more central position in recent weeks, with Diaz delighting with his role at left flank. Mane has developed well in attack, showing his predatory instincts with three goals in two games against Manchester City last week.

“I’ve known Sadio for almost six years, as far as I know him he’s never needed competition to be the best version of himself,” Klopp said at his press conference on Monday. “I’m not sure if Luis’ signing affected that part of his game, but the center game also suits Sadio very well.”

Keane makes Red’s prediction

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane believes Liverpool will be too strong Chelsea in which FA Cup Finals on May 14th.

The Blues secured their spot alongside the Reds in the Wembley showpiece with a 2-0 win crystal palace on Sunday, meaning the two teams will meet in a replay of the Carabao Cup final earlier in the season. While this was a close game that Liverpool eventually won on penalties, Keane feels the Reds are in a much better position than their upcoming opponents at the moment.

He said: “If a team wants to beat Liverpool this season, they have to make an effort. The feel good factor, the quality of the players. They look sharp, they look strong, a great team, a great manager, they’ll stick with that a lot… [Chelsea are] not as sharp or as strong as Liverpool.”

Alexander-Arnold sends message

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold said everyone linked with the Reds should try to enjoy their fight for four trophies.

The Reds’ victory over City on Saturday propelled them into the FA Cup final, while Klopp’s side have secured a convenient cup draw Champions League Semifinals where they are expected to get past Villarreal.

Alexander-Arnold has said in another big week that it’s important to savor situations like the one the team is currently in, although he said he doesn’t want runs like this to remain a one-off.

“When you come back from the internationals, it’s going to be really tasty, isn’t it? The games matter, it’s the best time of year to disappoint when you can’t enjoy it.

“Hopefully it won’t be a one-off opportunity, but this is our first time in this position.”
