Gerrard plans a raid on Liverpool

Steven Gerrard is planning a major transfer heist on his former side Liverpool.

The Reds icon’s Villa side have picked up just three points in their last five games and suffered a stunning 4-0 defeat Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. The club’s decline in form has seen Gerrard turn his attention to the summer transfer market when planning big changes to his squad.

One of the players Gerrard is keen to sign is Liverpool defender Joe Gomez – and the Villa manager will have the financial backing from the club’s billionaire owners to help him transform his squad.

The “big problem” of the Reds in the title fight

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has pointed to the “big problem” the Reds could have if they aim to oust Manchester City’s narrow lead in the Premier League title bid.

City are currently at the top of the Premier League table and are a point clear of the Reds after their clash at the Etihad on Sunday. And Redknapp believes Liverpool’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur “will be significant” and “presents them with a major problem”.

But Redknapp still thinks the title race is still “impossible to call.”

Klopp’s half-time message from Man City

Trent Alexander-Arnold shared what Jurgen Klopp told his players at half-time Manchester City On Sunday.

Liverpool recovered a goal in the second half in a 2-2 draw with title rivals Manchester City. Kevin De Bruyne gave the champions a fifth-minute lead at the Etihad Stadium but Diogo Jota equalized for the second-placed Reds eight minutes later.

Gabriel Jesus restored City’s advantage before the break before Sadio Mane struck a second equalizer for Jurgen Klopp’s men just seconds into the second half. And Alexander-Arnold has said manager Klopp inspired his players to get the equalizer by telling them to ‘play our football’.
