Salah injury update

Klopp has admitted that he is a bit worried about Salah’s fitness.

The Egyptian took a penalty to keep the game safe for Liverpool, although he squandered several other opportunities in the game. He also hobbled out of action in the second half, scaring Liverpool fans.

The Red Devils boss then gave his initial assessment of the ability the 29-year-old has achieved.

“We’ll see,” he said. “He thinks it’s not serious but we’ll see when he sits down. Something is not 100% right. We think it was the previous situation where he hit the ball and was blocked, he took the shot. and blocked.

“The foot is a bit stretched. We’ll see.”

Salah says ‘fall in line’

Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch said he would be worried about the precedent set if the club accepted Salah’s contract demands.

The striker’s contract expires at Anfield at the end of next season. Before the clash with Brighton, Klopp admitted that there had been an impasse in recent negotiations, with Salah reportedly turning down Liverpool’s initial offer.

Crouch said he can understand why Liverpool are hesitant about meeting the amount the striker wants, despite his obvious incredible talent.

“You give him what he wants, Van Dijk almost matters, Alisson, where does it end? Then it becomes a problem,” Crouch said.

“We all want to keep Mohamed Salah 100% but he has to match what they are prepared to pay.”

Experts agree on red card

A VAR review looked into the matter, although after the goal was awarded it was determined that no action was needed.

It was a decision that confused many viewers, including Sky Sports pundit pair Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

“Must get a red card!” wrote Neville on Twitter. “I believe the red card was not given because it was a goal,” added Carragher. “That header went wide of the post and it was a red card. Almost like, one goal is enough.”
